RENOVATION NOTICE
Brand Library & Art Center is temporarily closed for renovation. Reference service and a portion of the library collection are available at Glendale Central Library, 222 E. Harvard St., Glendale 91205, 818-548-2027. Please visit us at www.brandlibrary.org or on Facebook for further information and renovation updates. The renovation is expected to be completed in early 2014.
Borrowing Materials
On a library card you may check out a total of 100 items. At Brand Library, you may have up to 50 books, 25 compact discs (5 of which may be boxed sets), 25 records, 6 DVDs, 6 VHS, 15 framed prints, 15 unframed prints, and 15 slide sets checked out on your card at any given time but no more than 100 total items.
Most Library materials may be borrowed for 21 days. Framed prints may be borrowed for 56 days. You may place a hold on items which are checked out. Brand Library videos, DVDs and records can only be picked up at Brand Library.
Because of the delicate nature and high replacement cost of materials, Brand Library does not have a book drop. Materials may be returned inside the library during open hours at Brand or other Library, Arts & Culture Department circulation desks.
Holdings
The Library currently has almost 125,000 items including more than 80,000 book titles, 100+ periodical subscriptions, 26,000+ compact discs, 10,000+ records, almost 1500 videos and DVD, 200 slide sets, and several hundred framed or mounted art reproductions.
How Do I Get A Library Card?
You must have a teen card or be 18 years old to check out materials. A library card may be obtained by providing a valid California driver’s license or California Identification Card with current residential address, or other acceptable proof of California residence. Reference Services
Reference services are available on a walk in basis. Reference services are also available by phone.
Donations
Brand Library accepts donations of art and music materials in good condition. A Donor Slip for tax purposes is supplied to the provider upon request. The library staff are not able to appraise donations. Donations may be delivered to the back door (ring doorbell) any time during library open hours. If you have a large donation please call the library in advance.
