Computer Workshop Descriptions |
| Computer Club for Beginners |
Comfortably-paced training for beginners with little or no computer experience. Designed to interest Seniors and retirees. Multi-session series introducing mouse and keyboard, Microsoft Windows, basic word processing, Internet searching, Email, and tips for selecting a home computer.

| Microsoft Word - Introductory (ages 16 and up) |
Basics of using this popular word processing program. Prerequisites: Students must know how to use mouse and keyboard.

| Microsoft Word - Intermediate Level |
This is an introduction to slightly more advanced skills such as creating headers/footers, bullets, changing line spacing, and inserting pictures.

| Microsoft Word - Advanced Level |
This workshop covers topics such as inserting symbols, text boxes, shapes, tables, and Excel graphs/tables into a Word document. Topics also include creating page/section breaks, mailing labels, and formatting columns.

| Microsoft Excel – Introductory (ages 16 and up) |
This workshop is an introduction to spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Topics include formatting and editing text and other basics. Familiarity with Microsoft Word is desired.

| Microsoft PowerPoint (Two levels: Grades 5-9; Ages 16 and up) |
Students will create a simple slideshow presentation. Prerequisites: Microsoft Word workshop, or equivalent experience.

| Typing and 10-Key (ages 16 and up) |
For the beginning typist. Learn to use Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor to improve your typing and 10-key skills. In English and Spanish. Prerequisites: Must know how to use mouse.
